Indradhanush Magazine: Raj Kumari Indira Devi Dhanraj Gorji

Raj Kumari Indira Devi Dhanraj Gorji: An icon of cultural Ambassador.

This special issue highlights the life and aspirations of an Indian Princess of Hyderabad, who had maintained a priviledged relation with Mauritius, ever since her first visit to the Island in 1968, when she was the chairman of the Hindi Academy of Andhra Pradesh. She had a dramatic meeting with one of the greatest poet and painter of Mauritius, Malcolm de Chazal, who was captivated by the elegance of Indira Devi, and offered her a dozen of his valuable paintings.

Forty-years later the Indian Princess returned those paintings to several institutions in Mauritius. This illustrates her generous big heart.
