Pandit Cashinath Kistoe : Missionary of extraordinary zeal.

This special issue highlights the militant spirit of the greatest Hindu missionary of Mauritius who was born in a humble village in the south of the Island. He was trained as a Vedic preacher at Lahore, India and on his return became a missionary within the Arya Samaj with his militant missionary zeal. He influenced many youths including Mohunlall Mohith and campaigned to wipe out illiteracy among the Indian masses. He collaborated in socio-political activities with Dr. Maurice Cure and Dr. Seewoosagur Ramgoolam until his death in 1947.
