This is the revised and enlarged edition of the original one published by Sterling Publishers Pvt. Ltd. in 1982. In was reprinted several times. The new edition contains eighteen interesting Mauritian folk tales whose genesis can be traced from the continents of Africa, Asia and Europe. The author has recounted these tales in a simple language and flowing style as if ‘they are from the large cake crumbs of the Panchantantra and the Hitopdesa’ according to Mulk Raj Anand.
